Community Health Nursing department  prepares the student nurses to satisfy the ever changing challenges of society. The programme orients the students to the concept of positive health and successful living and focuses on the community in the aspect of health promotion.The students identify and solve the health problems within the community through innovative and price effective strategies of primary health care. The department actively participates in education, training, service and research in the field of community.

This experience includes opportunities for participation in various National Health Programmes  and an array of guided observation visits to various locations of public health importance. The Department regularly organizes household surveys, epidemiological  investigations, health projects, mass campaigns, home visits, health care programs, school health programs, special clinics, etc. in the adopted villages. The awareness campaigns, exhibitions, and health education activities organized in the villages train the students to effectively interact with the community on health topics.
